We are searching for an experienced Machinist to work in our Tulsa Factory.
Position Summary
The Conventional Machinist/Balancing position is responsible for machining, trimming, and deburring impellers, as well as setting up, operating, and loading parts on a dynamic balance machine. This role ensures parts meet dimensional, quality, and balance specifications while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety focused, and able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform conventional machining operations, including trimming, and deburring, of impellers.
Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.) to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
Ensure all machined surfaces meet required quality and finish standards.
Set up and operate the dynamic balancing machine for a variety of impellers.
Properly load and secure parts into the balancing fixture following standard procedures.
Identify imbalance conditions and make the required corrective actions (material removal, trim cuts, etc.).
Document balance readings, adjustments, and final acceptance results per internal procedures.
Troubleshoot basic balancing machine issues and communicate equipment needs to maintenance as required.
Complete all required job travelers, inspection sheets, and balance reports accurately and on time.
Follow internal quality procedures and report any nonconforming parts or process deviations.
Support continuous improvement efforts related to machining, balancing, safety, and workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
1+ years of experience as a conventional machinist, balancing technician, or related mechanical trade preferred.
Proficiency with precision measurement tools and inspection methods.
Good mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with impellers, rotating equipment, or turbomachinery components.
Previous experience operating Schenck or similar balance machines.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Standing, bending, and handling components for extended periods.
Ability to safely handle rotating parts and sharp edges.
