 As Product Design Engineer Sr in Ruhrpumpen, you will be responsible of Design, analyze, and optimize reciprocating pump products and critical components through advanced mechanical engineering practices, Support product development, manufacturing, and field operations to ensure safe, reliable, and high-performance pumping solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop reciprocating pump components and systems, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, reliability, and industry standards.
  • Engineer pressure-retaining components, castings, and machined parts, ensuring structural integrity, manufacturability, and long-term operational reliability.
  • Create, review, and maintain detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, specifications, and technical documentation using AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate designs, evaluate stress and deformation characteristics, and optimize component performance.
  • Lead product development and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations to identify and resolve product, manufacturing, and field-related issues.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Service, and Operations, to implement effective engineering solutions.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects and priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines and achieving team objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Evaluate and implement engineering change requests (ECRs) and design improvements based on performance data, customer feedback, and operational requirements.
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering or similar specialty.
  • 10+ years of experience working for reciprocating pump manufacturer in pump engineering and design role. Understanding of designing pressure retaining components, castings and machined components.
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task and prioritize independently to achieve shared team goals with general guidance.
  • Ability to have fun and find innovative solutions for problems.
  • Knowledge of Autocad and Inventor 3D design.
  • Knowledge of FEA.
  • Experience performing structured Root Cause Analyses (RCA) to resolve product, manufacturing or field related issues.
