As a Sales Engineer you will provide a single point contact for all Ruhrpumpen sales & customer support, managing the defined territory and leading strategic focus with regular interface for assigned accounts. You will be responsible for increase sales, (both directly and through distributor network), to expand market share and profitably grow for all Ruhrpumpen product, offerings as well aftermarket services. This will be achieved with focus on sales of New pump sales (projects, replacements, duplicates), as well as Aftermarket (parts, service, repair and upgrades) through optimization of the defined territory and regular management interaction.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Appropriately calling on accounts in person in the required area
  • Developing channel partners (distributors & representatives) in key territories and/or markets. Responsibilities include New Mexico and Arizona. Candidate will be expected to grow sales presence through developing new channel partners in New Mexico and Arizona. The candidate will also have opportunities to grow the distribution network in West and South Texas.
  • Single Point of Contact calling on customers in the territory on a regular basis to grow the business in all market segments, per the guidelines established
  • Grow business in all market segments by calling on assigned customers on a regular basis
  • Maintains active communications and relationships with respective In-House personnel, utilizing all available team support to provide viable customer solutions.
  • Develop and maintain active relationships with buying influences and develop new relationships to maintain and grow customer / territory interactions.
  • Identify and work with customers to understand and define individual needs
  • Responsible for territory/customer forecast, budgets, and cost control via company approved systems, methods, and policies.
  • Represent all Ruhrpumpen products including Non-OEM products as defined in sales strategies.
  • Partner with customers to understand project specifications and scope requirements to ensure proposals are generated to meet requirements.
  • Negotiate orders, including all technical, commercial, and legal terms and conditions to mutual satisfaction of all parties
  • Provide new pump opportunities to Inside Sale for quoting and specifications.
  • Responsible for all customer / territory communications and interactions through daily update in CRM and forecast which includes industry / market / account competitive analysis to support management strategy development.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in similar roles.
  • Desired 5+ years of experience selling to the pump aftermarket.
  • Highly motivated
  • Availability and willingness to travel to customer locations up to 50% of the time.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to develop and execute individual business plans
  • Experience selling through channel partners is preferred.
